Mentioned about being Prabowo’s First Lady, Titiek Soeharto laughed

Siti Hediati Soeharto or Titiek Soeharto has recently been widely discussed by the public after Prabowo Subianto was inaugurated as President of Indonesia, Sunday 20 October 2024.

The elected DPR member for the 2024-2029 period from the Gerindra Party is linked to the figure of the first lady.

How did Titiek Soeharto respond? When asked about her chances of becoming First Lady accompanying President Prabowo, the Chair of Commission IV just laughed.

“The question has become distorted,” said Titiek Soeharto, laughing when met in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (23/10/2024).

Titiek emphasized that his presence at various events which Prabowo also attended was because he was invited, not because he was in a position to accompany him.

“I don’t accompany you, if I’m invited, I’ll come like that. Now I’m concentrating as a member of the council,” said Titiek Soeharto.

The chairman of Commission IV, which is in charge of agriculture, forestry and maritime affairs, said that he would increase cooperation with working partners, namely the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Forestry, Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Logistics Affairs Agency (Bulog), Peat and Mangrove Restoration Agency ( BRGM), the National Food Agency (Bapanas), and the Indonesian Quarantine Agency.

Commission IV focuses on carrying out President Prabowo’s mandate to accelerate the achievement of food self-sufficiency which must be achieved within a maximum of four years. Therefore, Commission IV must synergize with the Ministry of Agriculture to make this happen.

Apart from that, Commission IV also encourages improving the welfare of fishermen and ensuring that marine resources are utilized as fully as possible for the Indonesian people. Action against ship theft will also be intensified.

“In the past, Mrs. Susi was fierce (against ship theft), it’s being encouraged now. How come you haven’t heard of that in the last few years,” he said.
